"Cultivating Calm" Mondays @ 6:15pm
A true change agent at heart, Ritu Riyat is dedicated to creating a culture of wellbeing from the inside out. Believing that true growth comes from mastering your mindset, she has studied the science of meditation, yoga, and behavior change around the globe and has worked with executives, athletes, law enforcement, and fortune 500 companies to optimize wellbeing in and out of the workplace.
Ritu started practicing yoga and meditation in 1999, under the impression that meditation meant “having no thoughts” she became frustrated with the amount of thoughts distracting her mind. Rather than give up she decided to dive deep and attended her first Vipassana in 2009. After spending 10 days in silence, meditating 10 hours a day she experienced the true meaning of meditation.
Wishing she knew what she knows now, Ritu structures her classes to help students develop their own meditation practice with small, simple habits leading to sustainable health. Rather than waiting for the “perfect” environment to meditate in, she uses the noise of life as tools to deepen your practice. She believes the true value of meditation comes from its application, this age- old technology teaches us to “become comfortable with the uncomfortable”. Ritu is known to meet you where you’re at on your meditation journey, leaving you feeling empowered and in control.
As a speaker, writer, and culture consultant, Ritu helps individuals and organizations flex their awareness muscles to uncover and eliminate hidden stressors and uplevel their state of wellbeing.
Ritu earned her BS in Genetics from the University of California, Davis, and her Master’s in Public Health Epidemiology from the Keck School of Medicine of USC and is 500-hr certified yoga therapy teacher.
In her spare time, she can be found striking a yoga pose, sitting in silence, or writing
